Joe Garafolo is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and the founder of Performance Incorporated with over 35 years of experience.

He worked as a nutritionist at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in East Orange, NJ, and BioFitness Institute in NYC, and then formed Sports Nutrition Academy, a NJ private practice in sports nutrition. After eight years of nutrition counseling, Joe expanded his practice to include performance training. At Plus One Fitness in NYC, he worked with physical therapists and injured clients. As a strength coach, he created Performance Incorporated in Soho NYC and West Caldwell, NJ.

At Performance Incorporated Joe has built a team of Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and health professionals working to provide optimal health and peak performance.

Licensed Boxing Instructor

Lennel aka ‘’Champ” Velasquez is a former 144 lbs. Amateur Boxer who has over 20 years of experience training fighters throughout the NY/NJ Metro area, including Golden Glove Champions and Finalists. His boxing program includes but is not limited to perfecting techniques in footwork, blocking, how to properly jab, cross, hook, and punch in combinations. Outside of the ring, Champ takes pride in educating his clients on safety. His clients are taught basic self-defense with high-impact cardio, building endurance and performance while boosting one's self-esteem and mental focus. No matter your background or fitness level, you will leave each session feeling like a champion.

John Mannion Jr.

Strength and Conditioning coach

John graduated from Rowan University where he studied Health and Exercise Science. While studying at Rowan, John interned for the Rowan Strength and Conditioning Program, covering a wide range of athletes. He was also a member of the university's football team, earning All-Conference Honors his senior year at running back. John specializes in sports training, with extensive experience with football players, specifically running backs and receivers. John is able to train athletes at all levels who are looking to get faster, stronger, or quicker. John helps athletes achieve their goals, including building muscle, weight loss, and incorporating general fitness into their lives. 


 

Michele R. Teichner

Pilates, Yoga & Meditation Teacher

Michele has been studying Pilates for over 30 years, continuing her education with Naja Cori, a protégée of Joseph Pilates, after receiving her certification.  Michele’s instruction is crafted to help each of her students grow in a way that is unique to their needs. Her extensive knowledge of Pilates mat exercises, Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, Fletcher Towel™, and Magic Circle (all available within her studio) provides authentic and targeted work-outs. 

In addition to Pilates, Michele is a trained yoga teacher, with 200 hours in the Sivananda lineage. She has been practicing classical Hatha for over 20 years. Her teaching focuses on yoga, chair yoga, and gentle (adaptive) yoga. Michele makes yoga accessible and fun for people of all ages and abilities. Her teaching will help build strength, awareness, and confidence. 

Michele offers online instruction in: Pilates mat, Pilates machines (provided client has Pilates equipment at home), stretching, foam roller flexibility and stretching, yoga, chair yoga classes, gentle and yoga classes, and compassionate meditation.

All levels are welcome.

Ryan Higgins, CSCS, BCTMB

certified Massage therapist

Ryan takes a holistic approach, using massage therapy, nutrition coaching, and strength & conditioning to help you.

Being interested in athletic development, Ryan is constantly on the search for the best techniques and modalities to help people. This lead him to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Behavior Science and a minor in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in and competed with the UDEL powerlifting team, as well as volunteered with the University’s Strength and Conditioning Staff coaching the student athletes.  After hearing and noticing personal success with soft tissue manipulation, he decided to attend The Theraputic Massage and Training Center. He is currently licensed as a Massage Therapist in New Jersey. Ryan’s certifications:
